Update an existing WebApp item

Edit one entry in an existing structured collection, such as a service, location or product catalogue.

You need

Your site must use the collection, and your account must be allowed to edit its items. Field names vary by collection.

Steps

Confirm the site and environment

Confirm the site and environment, then expand WebApps in the site-editor sidebar.

Select the existing collection

Select the existing collection by its name. Do not select Create new WebApp or its settings gear for an item update.

Open the item

Find the entry in its item list and select the item's name.

Review the standard fields

Use Standard Fields to confirm the entry. Leave Slug, Weighting, Release Date, Expiry Date and Enabled unchanged unless your agency specifically requested a visibility or order change.

Update the custom fields

Open Custom Fields and update the agreed content fields. Use the file picker for image and file fields, then check that you chose the correct public asset.

Save the item

Select Save Item and wait for the success message.

Check the published appearance

Check the collection's listing and the item's detail page through Site Preview, where the website exposes them. Check desktop and mobile layouts.

The saved item can update every page that displays that entry in your current environment. A Development change still needs agency publication.

Understand item visibility

Enabled, Release Date, Expiry Date and the website's collection filters and layout determine where an item appears. Enabling an item does not guarantee that every page will show it. Weighting can affect ordering where the site's design uses it.

If you see separate layout choices, leave them unchanged for a routine content update. The History tab can help you review older versions of an existing item; use Version history and coordinate a restore first.

Do not replace a whole collection, change field definitions or edit layouts to correct one item. Do not guess map coordinates or addresses. A change to a shared entry may affect more than the page you were viewing. Ask your agency if required fields or expected item content are unclear.
