Manage website files

Find and upload approved images or documents for your website.

You need

  • File Manager access
  • The correct site and environment
  • Files suitable for public use

Steps

Open File Manager

Open CMS → File Manager.

Open the appropriate folder

Open the folder where you want to store the file. Use the folder navigation to return to the parent folder when needed.

Upload the file

Select Upload File, choose the file from your device, and wait for the upload result.

Review existing-file warnings

If a file already exists, read the overwrite or collision dialog carefully. Cancel if you are unsure. Choose the replacement option only if you intend to update every reference to the existing file. Choose the alternative-name option if you need a separate asset.

Verify the uploaded file

Check that the file appears in the intended folder. Use Open in new tab or Download to inspect the file.

Add the file to your content

Return to the page, blog, or WebApp item's image or file picker. Select the uploaded file, then save the content.

The file is available in the current environment. Uploading alone does not necessarily place it on a page or transfer it to Live.

Folders and file actions

Use New Folder to organize assets when your agency has agreed on the folder structure.

File actions include Rename, Move to..., Duplicate to..., and Delete. Supported files also offer Open in new tab and Download. Keep existing names and paths unchanged unless your agency confirms that their uses have been checked.

Safe replacement

Prefer a clearly named new file when changing an image on one page. Replacing an existing file may update several pages that share the same asset.

Compare the actual picture and its dimensions, not just the file name. After replacing a file, refresh the relevant page preview. If the old picture remains, ask your agency before uploading or deleting files again.

File Manager is for website assets, not a private document vault. Do not upload personal submissions, confidential briefs, or AI reference attachments here.

Renaming, moving, or deleting a file can break links. Do not assume that a deleted file can be restored. Avoid selecting multiple files for destructive actions. Ask your agency about cleanup and asset recovery.
