Edit an existing page
Update text on a page without changing its address or structure.
You need
- Permission to edit pages
- The correct site and environment
- A page suitable for visual editing
Steps
Open the Pages area
Open CMS → Pages.
Find the page
Search using Search by page name or URL.... If necessary, set Enabled/Disabled to All and clear the Category filter.
Open the page
Select the page name or its pencil edit icon.
Confirm the page details
Review Details to confirm that you opened the correct page. Do not change Slug, Template, or Enable this page when correcting text.
Edit the text visually
Select Visual Editor and wait for it to finish loading. Double-click the text you want to update, then make a small edit.
Save the edit
Select the visual editor's Save and wait for the Saved confirmation. If you changed page details separately, select Save Page to save those changes.
Review the result
Open Site Preview, choose the page, and select Refresh preview. Check the changed section at desktop and mobile sizes.
The edited content is stored in the environment you are editing. On Development, send it to your agency for publication review. On Live, saving can affect visitors directly.
Details and status
Name is the page's management name. Renaming it does not necessarily update the visible heading.
Slug changes the page address and may break links. Ask your agency before changing it.
Enable this page controls availability, not approval. The Pages list also includes Enabled status controls and Enable Selected or Disable Selected bulk actions. Do not toggle these controls to keep an edit in draft because you may make an existing page unavailable.
Protected or dynamic content
A warning may say that the page contains dynamic forms or content that cannot safely be saved visually. Do not remove placeholders or work around a disabled Save button. Ask your agency to identify the source. A blog, WebApp, or shared section may need to be updated in its own tool. This guide does not require code editing.
Wait for successful saving before leaving the page. The amber dot beside Save Page indicates unsaved changes. Cancel may offer a confirmation before you leave. Do not rely on this warning in every tool. The separate full-screen visual editor may label its button Save & Publish. That action saves page content in the current environment; it does not hand changes from Development to Live.
